About Cindy Donley

Hi. I’m Cindy Donley. I am a private practice coach and consultant located in Charlottesville, VA, with over 20 years of experience helping businesses grow and succeed. I am the co-founder and director of operations for a mental health group practice established in 2011, which was started as a solo practice and now employs seven full-time therapists and has tons of referral sources and a constant influx of new clients.

I have a BS in chemical engineering from the University of Virginia and a law degree from Washington and Lee University. I ran my own business development firm for seven years which focused on supporting research and development

projects for small companies. I created several different niche websites which relied on affiliate marketing. I am the administrator and president of the board for a non-profit which serves hundreds of homeschooling families.

I love hiking (moderate trails), growing my own food, drinking tea, reading, and going on field trips with my two homeschooled children.

Throughout all of my experience and education, I have compiled a wealth of knowledge about establishing, running and marketing a therapy practice. I have been responsible for all aspects of establishing and managing the practice including tax and regulatory registrations, business formation documents and decisions, marketing and advertising, client and insurance billing, client scheduling, supporting day-to-day activities of the employees and overseeing employee productivity, onboarding of new employees, employee payroll, financial operations of the practice (including accounting/bookkeeping), ensuring compliance with business and professional regulations, management of physical and virtual offices, website creation and maintenance, and more.

I have worked with psychologists, social workers, and professional counselors as well as residents and interns. I have cultivated a number of referral sources and have created a successful marketing approach for the individual therapists and the practice as a whole that has led to a consistent influx of clients and full schedules for all of my employees.

I am able to draw on my years of knowledge to help you establish your own individual or group mental health practice. Whether you want to work on your own or have dreams of growing a thriving group practice, and whether you want to focus on private pay or work with insurance companies, I can guide you through all of the necessary steps. Contact me for more information about how I can help you.
